Family Fun Fact:
The Dávila family history comes to the New World with Francisco Dávila, who sailed to North America in 1512. Dávila genealogy includes a few interesting people, such as Honduras President Miguel Dávila and Spanish colonial administrator Pedro Dávila.
About Our Grapes:
Cabernet Franc’s origins lie in the Basque region of France (next to Spanish border in the South-West). Ampelographers point to South-West as Cab Franc’s homeland because it’s related to a few other varieties found here.
Cabernet Franc is the parent grape to Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot as well as the rare Hondarribi Beltza (found mostly in the Basque Country of Spain).
